About Maui

Of the six major Hawaiian Islands, Maui is the second youngest and was created by the world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala, along with the now extinct Puu Kului. After many years of erosion, both volcanoes created the island of Maui, which is also the reason it has been often referred to as "the valley island".
